What is the Pool Void Cover System ?

The Pool Void Cover system has been designed specifically to Australian Standards. A void is technically a hole, and the pool void cover system has been designed specifically for use on concrete pools under construction; fibreglass and concrete pools fully constructed and for covering any type of void in the construction workplace.

The covers and panels are modular in design allowing them to be easily connected for a FULL 100% coverage of your pool or void. This allows for a true safe working environment. There are no gaps between the panels, as all panels simply lock together.

The system has been designed with a SWL of 225kg (2 persons and their tools). Full technical information is available through the ‘Technical / Standards’ tab.

The panels are strong, utilising an Aluminium base frame – and the cover made from structural plyboard. The panels are lightweight – allowing ease of access to site – and easy to install and demobilise.
The VC range of Pool Void Covers were specifically designed for the Australian market – with its strict work place regulations and standards. The system allows for full peace of mind, knowing that the pool cannot be entered at any point.
The pool void cover system can be installed as a stand-alone design, or as a complimentary system with your temporary pool fencing.

What is the Pool Void Cover System  comprised of ?

There are a number of components to a full Pool Void Cover system, these include:

  • Pool beams and Beam Supports – running across the pool. Specified to Australian engineering standards, and removing the need for acrow props – that can damage the pool floor surface.
  • Void Cover Panel – available in a standard range – or can be custom built upon request. These are a sturdy aluminium frame/platform that are mounted onto the pool beams. The number of panels is determined by the width and length of the pool to be covered
  • (Optional) Cover bar – additional top brace design – mounted over the void cover panels, which means that the pool covers can only be removed with tools.

What is the minimum and maximum size of pools that can be covered ?

We can cover a small plunge pool to a large swimming pool – the system is modular so can be made as small, or as large, as required.

All common pool widths up to 5m can be done without the need for acrow props – the length of the pool that can be covered is unlimited.

Why choose a Pool Void Cover system ?

This system is the number one choice for ensuring your pool is safe whilst work is being undertaken in the area. The system can be installed for long periods at a time – allowing for peace of mind from block and house building to lock up stage.

For existing pool owners – when major works are being undertaken on your property – this system meets all safety regulations; ensures a safe working environment for the contractors; and provides a safe area for your family whilst existing pool fencing may be removed.

In addition, depending on the distance of your pool from your house, you may need to cover the pool when contractors/builders are working on your roof. Ask your builder or contact us for more information.

The system has also been designed, so that for existing pools, it is easy to install, and causes no damage to your existing pool upon installation and removal.

Who should use the pool void cover system ?

The normal applications for the pool void cover system are:
– Developers and designers – Project management, allowing for a 100% safe work environment for staff and contractors
– House Builders – Removes the need for pool temporary fencing, allowing contractors to undertake their work safely. In addition, when the contractors leave at night – there are no fences to put back up to ensure a safe zone.
– Home Owners – Wether you are having your house built from new, or undertaking development, the Pool Void Cover system allows the peace of mind that your pool is fully protected and secure whilst you have renovations and work undertaken.

What is the cost of a pool void cover system ?

The total cost is entirely dependent on the size of the void you are covering, and the size of the panels that you choose.

Click on the ‘Request a Quote’ button – and we will specify a system entirely for your requirements.

Can I hire instead of buying ?

Yes, but as we are the designers, manufacturers and retailers – we do not hire direct. We do have a network of rental companies that will be able to supply a system for you. Click on the ‘Request a Quote’ button, and we will specify the right number of panels and requirements for your local agent.

How easy is it to install / remove ?

The system has been designed to be easy to install and remove, but due to the risk of working near open voids, we recommend that only licensed builders or compotent professionals install the systems.

Depending on the size of the pool to be covered, installation can take from 30 mins for a small plunge pool, to 90 minutes for a larger pool.
